The Idaho Falls Wrestling Club was organized in 1977. It has a reputation for training nationally competitive wrestlers. Idaho Falls wrestlers have gone on to compete for Purdue, Harvard, BYU, Okalhoma State, Boise State, and several other colleges and universities. We believe that wrestling is the world's finest sport in promoting the physical development for young athletes.
The goal for Idaho Falls Wrestling is to maintain a program continuum of skills and character development beginning at Kindergarten and continuing through high school. We believe that wrestlers benefit from participating in all three major styles of wrestling; folkstyle, freestyle, and greco-roman. The Idaho Falls philosophy seeks to link the kids program with the Jr. High teams which in turn benefits our High School.
The Idaho Falls Wrestling Club is a Chartered affiliate of USA Wrestling, Idaho Falls wrestling supports the Clair E. Gale Jr. High, Taylorview Jr. High and Idaho Falls High School, and Eastern Idaho Wrestling Association (EIWA) wrestling programs. USA wrestling is the largest amateur athletic organization in the country and serves as the developmental arm for Olympic and International wrestling in the United States.
USA Kids Wrestling promotes the philosophy "athletes come first, winning comes second." The Idaho Falls Wrestling Club focuses on the develoopment of the individual athlete rather than on the number of matches we win. Wrestling is a tough sport, and no one wins all of the time. Our program is intended to produce confident, self-reliant young adults who understand how to set and achieve personal goals.
We hope that you will come to share our excitement for this discipline!
